Consultations

Take advantage of my many years of experience in public gardens, small organic farms, and hundreds of residential site visits in the D.C. area to get tailored advice and insights for your space. This is an affordable option for those who like to do things themselves, but want some guidance to get started.

$80/hour, based on the amount of time spent on site. I have a $100 minimum for this service. Up to 30 minutes of travel time round trip is complementary; any time in excess of that will be billed at the standard $80/hour rate. I am based in northeast DC. Consultations that develop into projects with my team may have a portion of the consultation bill deducted from the project total.

Plantings and Maintenance

I specialize in edible gardens, native perennial plantings, tree planting, invasive plant mitigation, and young tree care. Basic maintenance work like weeding, watering and mulching may be available as scheduling allows.

The following are not in my scope of work:
-Gravel- spreading, delivering, etc.
-Masonry work
-Retaining wall construction
-Routine mowing
-Raised bed construction (I can refer if needed)
-Planting of any plants deemed invasive
-Removal of healthy, well-placed native trees
-Tree work higher than 15 feet off the ground
-Major yard regrading
-Stump grinding

Work-along

By popular demand, I now offer a hybrid between a hands on educational experience and my Plantings and Maintenance service. If it’s within my scope of work and you want to learn to do it yourself, now’s your chance! I’m excited to offer the opportunity for my clients to work right alongside me and empower them with the skills to take better care of their space.
